Recognizing I could use a good life pep-talk right about now so I'm writing to myself today.
Having a little chat with myself usually helps settle the aimless thoughts and feelings that often creep in and cloud my mind.
I'm not sure how, but it's so easy for one thought to jump to another and become negative. I sometimes find myself expending a lot of energy fighting these thoughts to remain positive. Most days I win. Some I lose. I recently caught myself in one of these mental matches and instead of exchanging blows, I'm stepping out of the ring to pick up my pen and turn the page.
I know I'm not alone in experiencing this so if I can offer some advice, I'd like to say the way you talk to yourself is so important. Notice when you're feeling positive, acknowledge when you're not and don't let yourself play into any unnecessary negativity. It's not worth the energy and negative thoughts have a way of manifesting physically. Find a healthy way to channel your thoughts and feelings to be kind to yourself. Remind yourself that you are so good and give yourself a positive pep-talk. It works for me!
